I AM appealing to your readers to support the Spencer Dayman Meningitis Laboratories' Walk 2001.
Eighteen years ago, I lost my 14-month-old little boy Spencer through meningococcal meningitis and septicaemia. Since that time, I have dedicated my life to creating a better understanding of this terrible disease.
From September 29 to October 21, I shall be walking from the Tyne Bridge to the Tamar Bridge in Plymouth. Many people from the Worcestershire area whose families have experienced the anguish that meningitis causes will be walking various stages with me during October.
We are looking for people to be sponsored to join us in this fund-raising walk at any stage. Just a mile will do or if anyone could help collect in a town we pass through, it would be a great help.
STEVE DAYMAN,
Spencer Dayman Meningitis Laboratories,
592 Fishponds Road, Bristol.
