JUST for a change, let us forget supermarkets on the Westside and dwell on other things.

Near the river, on Bank Holiday Monday, I overheard a lady visitor say to her friend: "It's a lovely place, but there is nowhere to eat!"

I doubt if they will be returning to Worcester.

On Saturday, September 1, I visited The Commandery. Very interesting, but the place no longer has refreshment facilities, although a pleasant lady at the counter did tell me the nearest place I could get a cuppa and sustenance.

Then I went to catch a bus in Commandery Road. A number 32 bus ignored my upraised arm at the official request stop. Leave the car at home? Wish I had one!

In Stratford, Shakespeare is savoured. In Worcester, Elgar's statue is defiled.

And don't come to Worcester if you are on water tablets - toilets are few and far between, and those which exist are, all too often, far from satisfactory.

Now we hear that some seats may be removed in High Street. We need more seats throughout the city centre, not less.
