HE may have been down but legendary ex-Kidderminster Harriers matchday presenter Captain Crazy is not out.
Roger Harris - known by thousands for his unique sense of humour and wacky style - will be back on the football pitch on Saturday when he makes his debut for Harriers' rivals Worcester City as part of the Dr Martens premier division side's matchday team.
And the Captain - adored by thousands of Harriers fans from his 16 years at Aggborough - is relishing a reunion with five Kidderminster old boys at the St George's Lane club.
Crazy, 55, said goodbye to his beloved Harriers in July after declining the club's offer of a reduced role. However, the charismatic entertainer will grab the microphone for a roving role on the pitch in a double act with Worcester's matchday presenter Tony Deakin, beginning on Saturday against Havant & Waterlooville.
And he cannot wait to link up with Worcester's Harriers' old boys, manager John Barton, first team coach Mick Tuohy, physiotherapist Archie Richards, defender Martin Weir and striker Mark Shepherd.
The captain, who thanked all Harriers fans for their letters of support since his departure said: "To be working with five Harriers legends at Worcester is a dream.
"Apart from Harriers' first year in the Football League, I spent all my 16 years at the club when they were a non-league side, so it will be like returning to my grass roots.
"Even though my return will be on a softly, softly basis, I hope to have a big part to play when Worcester celebrate their centenary next year."
