A WORCESTERSHIRE schoolgirl has won a place in the finals of a national poster competition.

Nicole Britton is one of eight children from across the country to be chosen as finalists in Chrysler's "Belt up in the Back" campaign.

Nicole, aged 13, was one of 10,000 entrants from across the country who entered the competition earlier in the year.

Entrants had to design a poster which would effectively and innovatively communicate the seat belt safety message.

The competition was launched to raise awareness of the importance of wearing a rear seat belt, as surveys have shown a high proportion of parents do not effectively restrain their children in back seats.

Nicole's entry caught the eye of the judges with its colourful art work and innovative design.

As regional winner for the Midlands, Nicole, from Bromsgrove, has already won a Game Boy with two games.

If she wins the competition, she stands to get more than £2,000 of computer equipment and games, plus a choice of educational or sports equipment worth £3,000 for her school.
