PEOPLE in Worcester aiming to work with children are being asked to sign up and benefit from a free introductory college course.
The Making Choices scheme at Perdiswell Young People's Club is a must for anyone planning a future in the childcare sector to find out all the opportunities available to them.
Worcestershire Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership is the organiser behind the 15-hour course, run over six-weeks.
"There are so many benefits to working with children, not least the personal satisfaction of being in a rewarding job," said Carole Postins, training co-ordinator for the group.
"This is a great opportunity for people to learn about a possible future career, all completely free of charge."
The local programme is supporting the Government's national campaign to promote recruitment in the childcare sector. As well as running college courses, the Worcestershire County Council-backed initiative has produced a careers guide booklet available at libraries, job centres and career offices.
The course will take place every Wednesday, starting on Wednesday, October 31 from 7pm to 9pm.
