JEMIMA the giant bug has been jet-setting across Europe with Spa youngsters to promote a popular youth movement.

The Guide Association challenged members to take their bug to the highest, furthest or most unusual place they could.

The mission was part of a campaign to promote the established organisation.

Spa Guides took their cuddly mascot on their trip to Switzerland.

Thirty-four girls visited the Guide Association World Centre, a chalet, in Adelboden.

They took Jemima on all their adventures, including a trip to the Jungfrau mountains which are 11,500 feet high.

Holiday snaps have now been sent to their headquarters and the girls are waiting to hear if they have won the challenge.

District commissioner Jane McHugh said: "We had a brilliant time in Switzerland. The girls really rose to the challenge of getting our bug photographed in the most unusual places."

Droitwich Guide Association holds daily meetings and events at its Acre Lane base.
