WE Weston's contribution to your letters page last week challenged our MP to demonstrate that her plea for Redditch parents to send her a blatantly political letter, calling for higher education spending in Redditch, isn't the start of her next re-election campaign.
She'll have her work cut out.
The text she expects parents to copy out for homework is so partisan that it can't fail to arouse suspicion.
And we've seen it all before. Under the headline 'MP wins cash boost for schools' in the local press in February 1998, we were told that three Labour MPs in Worcestershire 'had successfully lobbied the Government for extra cash...a £1.3 million windfall for Redditch and Bromsgrove'.
Redditch parents should think twice before they volunteer as cogs in the Labour party propaganda machine.
They should also ask themselves why all Labour's extra money hasn't equipped Redditch schools for the start of term with permanent classrooms; and why there's such a breakdown in discipline in many school classes.
No amount of extra money can compensate for the blight that casts on our children's education.
