A CONTROVERSIAL review of Redditch ward boundaries has split council opinion down the middle.
The boundaries are being redrawn under Local Government Commission proposals to ensure each ward has roughly the same number of electors.
But the new plans have found Labour and Liberal Democrat councillors at loggerheads with their Conservative counterparts.
The Redditch Conservative Association has now decided to go it alone and submit its own proposals to the commission.
Mr Cartwright said the Labour and Liberal plan was based around communities and will include incorporating Winyates Green into Winyates ward as opposed to Matchborough ward.
But Conservative Councillor Gavin Smithers said their plans would include creating another council seat in the town and giving priority to natural boundaries like roads.
The Labour and Liberal Democrat plans, which will be the official council response to the commission, will be on display at Redditch Town Hall, in Alcester Street, until Monday.
