A FONDUE evening was an ideal way to begin meetings in our new village hall. Mrs C Caldicott gave a very comprehensive talk about the Swiss cheese industry. She included every aspect from farming to cheese making with the types of cheese produced and ways in which they are used. She ended by making a typical Swiss fondue, which contained white wine and Kirsch as well as cheese. Members were invited to taste and they agreed the dash of kirsch made all the difference. Gay Adam gave the vote of thanks.
The president, Sylvia Beardshaw, commented on the splendid new hall and congratulated all those involved in its refurbishment.
Joyce Rowthorn gave details of bookings for Symphony Hall. Seats are available for a Saint-Saens Organ Symphony on November 14 and Handel's Messiah on December 11.
