JON Ford drilled home a 90th minute penalty as Bromsgrove Rovers took three valuable Midland Alliance points with a 3-1 win at Willenhall Town last night.
The central defender converted the last minute spot-kick after Gordon Lynch had been upended by Aaron Skelding.
Rovers had earlier taken a ninth minute lead when Richard Kavanagh produced a superb diving header from Frazer McHugh's corner to leave goalkeeper Nathan Vaughan with no chance.
Willenhall came back at Rovers and were level after half-an-hour when second-choice goalkeeper Jimmy McGettrick clattered Paul Bishop and Russ Brown converted the subsequent penalty.
Wing-back Paul Lloyd, who along with Chris Porter was outstanding, handed Rovers the lead just before the break.
Pint-sized Lloyd won a tackle and the ball rebounded to Stuart Payne path and he finished with a low drive under Vaughan for his first goal for his new club.
Bromsgrove, with McHugh a driving force, dominated much of the second-half but struggled to break down Willenhall's stubborn rearguard.
