Rating: three star
A Welsh combo dishing up music as difficult to categorise as it is to pronounce their name - it cannot be easy being a Gorky's fan.
And they appear to have quite a few as the band are now on their eighth album.
Being a newcomer to the musical style of this west Wales band, the first chords of Where Does Yer Go Now reminded me a little of Floyd - the Pink bank variety rather than the wine-swilling chef!
Psychedelic pop with a few folkie roots thrown in would best describe their style, with lead singer Euros Childs attempting to twist his voice around some punishing notes.
I say attempting because there are times when the vast melodic range of the songs seems beyond his reach, his voice straining at the seams.
The group's latest album hits a high halfway through before drifting away.
