THE pathology department at the Alexandra Hospital is set to be revamped after a damning report from a health watchdog, writes Becky Procter.
Officers from Redditch and Bromsgrove Community Health Council inspected the department more than 12 months ago.
After the visit, members slated the department in a report stating it needed modernising as a matter of urgency.
The CHC said staff facilities and working conditions needed improving and air conditioning should be installed.
CHC chief officer Moira Morris staff were praised for their dedication and for working in such desperately appalling conditions.
Work on the department will start in January and be completed by May.
