THIS was a much better performance from Sports after last week's disappointing result.

Straight from the kick off Droitwich opened the scoring against basement boys United when Simon Peters arrived at the far post, finishing easily from six yards.

Sports went 2-0 up on six minutes when Matt Jenkins seized on a defensive error and tucked the ball away nicely.

Jenkins then got his second and Sports' third after a flick on from Carl Nesbitt was met at the far post and headed home in the 16th minute.

On 25 minutes Nesbitt scored his ninth goal of the season, beating the keeper with a brave header to put Droitwich 4-0 up.

Another mix-up in defence almost handed Sports their fifth, but Peters squandered the chance from six yards.

The second half started as the first began when on 46 minutes Jenkins completed his hat-trick. Five minutes later Sports got their sixth with the goal of the game when Carl Nesbitt volleyed home from 20 yards.

The scoring continued on 65 minutes when Andy Crowther slotted the ball into the empty Birmingham net.

Adie Crowther then got Droitwich's eighth, scoring from an acute angle.

Sports keeper Melvin Watson made an excellent save on 78 minutes to deny the away side a consolation. Two minutes later Simon Peters tapped home his second and Sport's ninth.

Watson pulled off another fine save when the Birmingham forward was allowed a free header from six yards.

Droitwich got into double figures from sub Gary Cleaver, rifling home from 15 yards. The rout was completed in the 89th minute as Adie Crowther rounded the unfortunate United keeper to make it 11.
