A FORMER Bromsgrove GP whose daughter died in the Lockerbie bombing, travelled to Holland this week to follow the first stage of the appeal of the Libyan convicted of the atrocity.
Dr Jim Swire, from Finstall, travelled to the preliminary hearing of Abdelbaset Ali Mohamed's appeal against his murder conviction.
Dr Swire's daughter, Flora, was killed in the disaster along with all of the 258 other passengers aboard Pam Am flight 103 in December 1988.
Speaking to the Advertiser/Messenger from London yesterday, where he was due to meet the UK ambassador from the Lebanon, Dr Swire said: "The hearing went very well.
"The judges laid down a timetable for the appeal which is set to begin on January 23 next year which was quicker than we expected so that was excellent news."
