A NEW after-school club could offer hassle-free care for working parents in Barnt Green and Blackwell.
The Cool Club was launched to offer a safe, relaxed environment for children aged nine to 14 for the few hours following school when many mums and dads are still at work.
A club was already available to care for children of primary school age, so scheme workers decided to start a similar initiative for older children.
Since its launch in September it has received a grant from the Worcestershire Early Year Development and ChildCare Partnership, with which the group purchased a Sony PlayStation 2.
The club also offers the opportunity for children to participate in a range of sports and crafts. It is held at Alvechurch Middle School in Tanyard Lane from Monday to Friday between 3.30pm and 6pm at a cost of £4 per child, per session.
