BETTER information to make it easier for council taxpayers to understand their annual bills is the aim of the district council.
Bromsgrove District Council is proposing to include extra details to help taxpayers understand the costs of services towards which their money goes.
The authority wants to include the annual percentage increase for each of the sections within the bill -- West Mercia Constabulary, Worcestershire County Council, the district and parish councils.
It also wants to include reasons for increases, where more detailed information can be obtained, details of Government funding and a comparison between districts, as well as neighbouring council levies.
The suggestions were put forward, and supported by members of the authority's cabinet meeting on Wednesday September 26.
