INKBERROW ace Leslie Law enjoyed a golden debut at the European three day event Championships at the weekend.

Law, who won silver at the Sydney Olympics last year, went one better as part of the victorious Great Britain squad at Pau in the south of France.

Elevated to the European squad for the first time Law did his bit on trusty Olympic mount Shear H20.

Law put Britain in pole position on the opening day with a perfect showing in the dressage.

The British team, trained by Swede Yogi Breisner, were led home by Pippa Funnell on Supreme Rock who won individual gold despite a hiccup on her penultimate fence.

With nervy teammates looking on she became the first rider to win successive Euro golds on the same mount and only the third to win back-to-back titles.

The Inkberrow rider went on to Le Lion D'Angers for a three day event on Perryfields Casper this week.
