ALCESTER residents are to be offered an insight into the millions of starving people in Afghanistan, writes Helen Clarke.
Shahid Juned, husband of county councillor Susan Juned, was born and bred 20 miles from the Afghan border.
The retired BMW Group senior manager believes there is a great deal of misunderstanding of the current situation and wants to give people some of the background.
Mr Juned has condemned the terrorist attacks on America last month and says Osama Bin Laden must be handed over.
But he believes people in Britain are forgetting the millions of innocent victims who are now homeless and starving and stuck in a medieval Islamic regime.
Details of the date and venue for Mr Juned's meeting will be confirmed at a later date.
