DEAR EDITOR -- My wife broke her hip a few weeks ago and was taken to hospital.
She was subsequently discharged from the Castle Street site in Worcester quite a few days earlier than expected because Droitwich now has an excellent new service called 'Hospital at Home.'
This consists of a team of nurses, under the leadership of Sally Knowles, who come into your home and do everthing they would do in hospital.
The hospital makes badly needed savings, and the patient is returned to the comfort of his/her own home and bed.
This scheme was initiated by the Corbett Medical Practice and deserves our heartfelt thanks. It's a real plus for the NHS -- everyone benefits.
Eveline and Hugh Klare,
Herriots Court,
St George's Crescent,
Droitwich.
