DEAR EDITOR -- I feel compelled to add to the debate on refuse collection, or lack hereof.
The current two-tier system employed by Bromsgrove District Council is both unfair (for those who miss several collections) and a danger to the health of all Bromsgrove residents.
On two occasions this year when collections have been skipped I have seen maggots crawling over the refuse sacks. Had the weather been warmer we could have been looking at vermin outside our letterboxes and a rotting stench floating through the streets.
Is this the picture of Bromsgrove the council wishes to portray?
I urge the council to review their current system of refuse collection before they find the council offices knee deep in the rubbish they seem willing to leave on our doorsteps.
