A RADIO station aimed at the over 50s age bracket has hit the Worcestershire airwaves this week.
Saga 105.7 fm has begun broadcasting music that is often ignored by other radio stations, but favoured by the older age bracket.
The station is now broadcasting its sounds all over Worcestershire and the West Midlands.
Based on Birmingham's Hagley Road, it has taken on eight journalists under the control of news editor Colin Palmer.
It was officially launched on Tuesday after a massive party the night before to celebrate its birth.
Population
"We believe this station represents the tastes, views, music, interests of the over 50s and I'm sure the people of Worcestershire will let us know how we can make it even better," said managing director Peter Tomlinson, who lives at Ombersley, near Worcester.
"The 50s and over are already 41 per cent of the West Midlands population, and that figure will rise each year."
