ROWING: Three Stourport Boat Club crews headed to London bidding to build on a promising start to the season in the first major River Thames race.
The most successful town rowers were Debbie Taylor and Jacqui Whorton in the Double Scull Women's Senior II event.
They finished 14th in the class, covering the two-and-a-half miles in 13 minutes 59 seconds, and were fourth fastest non-London double.
Also in Double Sculls, Sarah Hough - racing with Beccy Young - finished in 14-20 for 12th in the Women's Senior III race.
Jez Stubbs and Chris Bird timed 14-05 in the competitive Men's Senior I Coxless Pairs.
Senior Stourport rowers are next in action at Monmouth's Head of the River race on Sunday, while the juniors go to Evesham for the J13 Coxed Quads.
Robert Hart-Davis, Daniel Brighton, Becky Perkins and Jess Danby, coxed by Miles Banks, hope to repeat their success at Worcester Regatta.
They defeated another Stourport team, made up of Josh Barrington, Nicola Price, Chris Haywood, Matthew Brighton and Tom Banks.
