ATHLETICS: Kidderminster and Stourport Athletic Club's star runner Matt Vaux-Harvey proved his injury worries were behind him in the Great South Road Race.
Vaux-Harvey finished 10th and was third British runner at Portsmouth.
Against a top class field, Vaux-Harvey recorded a personal best time of 49 minutes 20 seconds in Sunday's event.
The first six places were taken by overseas runners and the winning time of 46-17 was the fastest in the UK this year.
Club athletes took part in the West Midlands Young Athletes Cross Country League.
In the U-17 and U-15 men's events, Matt Grainger came seventh and Adam Grainger 48th.
For the U-15 girls, Fay Kitchen was fourth fastest, Liz Dourneen sixth, Laura Easton 25th and Heidi Jarosinski 65th.
Aiden Dourneen finished 23rd in the U-13 boys team with James Humphries 38th, Louis Benton 43rd and Jake Eggington 48th.
The U-13 girls included Charlotte James, 12th, and Kera Bennett, 71st.
There were over 100 runners in each race.
The Worcestershire Beacon Multi-Terrain seven-mile race at Malvern provided a challenging course for Nick Katic, who came 57th in 57-19, Nick Brown, 58-39, and Ron Lynes, one hour 0-15.
