A FORMER industrial chemist, who admitted trying to make controlled drugs in a cellar in High Street, Bewdley, has been warned he faces jail.
Shawn Dilley pleaded guilty at Worcester Crown Court to attempting to produce ecstasy and amphetamine between April 14 and November 17 last year.
Dilley, 32, now living in Kettering, also admitted producing amphetamine and stealing chemicals, lab equipment and bin liners belonging to Unilever Plc between December 31, 1998, and November 17 last year.
Mr Stephen Thomas, prosecuting, said it was accepted that the drug production was in an intermediate stage. It was estimated that 200 ecstasy tablets worth £800 could have been manufactured.
Adjourning the case for a pre-sentence report, Judge Michael Mott gave Dilley bail but warned he was "in great risk" of custody.
