BROADWAY Golf Club has won the prestigious Gloucestershire President's Cup -- a foursomes competition for teams of five pairs played off handicap on a knockout basis.
After successfully coming through the first five rounds, the semi-finals and final were contested over the Minchinhampton course.
Broadway came up against Brickhampton in the semi-finals and won in windy but dry conditions by a 4-1 margin.
The final was played against Long Ashton Golf Club from Bristol.
In torrential rain, with gusts of winding reaching up to 50 miles per hour, the standard of golf was surprisingly good and Broadway, supported by club captain Brian Wright, again triumphed by a margin of 4 -1 to complete a memorable day.
