KIDDERMINSTER Hospital is to get a share of a £100 million handout aimed at modernising and improving care in maternity units.

The windfall, the largest ever single investment by the Government, will help provide clean, modern facilities as well as recruit 2,000 more midwives over the next three years.

In all, the West Midlands region will receive £11 million of which Kidderminster Hospital will receive £7,875. Ronkswood will get £32,307.
