UNIVERSITY OF THE THIRD AGE - U3A: Pershore and District U3A will hold a meeting next Tuesday at 2pm in the Civic Centre Committee Rooms. There will be a talk on 'Wines of the World' given by 'Wine Rack', reports from the special interest groups and members will be given details of the first AGM to be held in December. The U3A holds general meetings monthly and also offers its members the opportunity to join a wide range of special interest groups that meet regularly in and around Pershore. New members and visitors who are over 50 and interested in expanding their skills and knowledge in a friendly environment are welcome.
MULTI-CHARITY CHRISTMAS CARD SHOP: Held in Pershore Library, Church Street, Pershore, will be open and selling Christmas cards for Multi-Charity Cards for good Causes. The card shop will be open from October 31 until December 19. Unfortunately they will not be open on Thursdays, as the Library itself will be closed.
FESTIVAL FOR THE OVER 50'S: Is being held at Pershore Civic Centre on October 31 between 10am and 3pm. You are invited to treat yourself to a 'free' taste of good health, so if you are 50 plus why not go along to a day especially for you and your health, with lots of things for you to try, see and do! Advice is on offer for many different aspects of life for the 50+'s. Special arrangements have also been made where you are welcome to bring along any old medicines for disposal.
ARTS THEATRE CLUB: The next meeting will be tomorrow (Friday) at 7.30pm at St Agatha's Hall, when Tom Oliver will talk on 'Croome Part - Its Art and Design'. Visitors and new members are welcome. Contact Jean Norcott on 01386 561624 about future events.
CHARITY DISCO: Proceeds to The Cobalt Appeal - Barry's Disco and Rockin Rooster presents a Charity Disco in aid of The Cobalt Appeal at Pershore Working Men's Club, High Street, Pershore, Worcs. The disco is being held on Saturday commencing at 7.30pm until late. Refreshments and a raffle will be available and tickets are £3 each.
GARDENING CLUB: The next meeting will be the AGM on October 25, at 7.30pm at Wulstan Hall, when John Glazebrook will talk about 'Making the Most of a Small Greenhouse'. There will be no competition. As always, new members and guests will be welcome.
