REDDITCH are joint leaders in the Worcestershire Games despite last place in the cycling on Saturday.
Hamstrung by the late withdrawal of their top three riders, the town picked up a solitary point to stay joint top with Wychavon with one event to go.
Organisers altered the rules because Redditch had only five riders, rather than the minimum six.
Wychavon and Wyre Forest agreed to drop a scoring rider each to allow the hosts to compete on a 9.7 mile circuit near Inkberrow.
Wychavon totalled 134min 28sec with Wyre Forest 138.06 and Redditch 141.37.
There is all to play for in the last event, handicapped boules, or Boccia, at Redditch's Arrow Vale Leisure Centre on Saturday (2pm start).
The event, for the mentally and physically handicapped, will decide the champions.
Redditch and Wychavon have 15 points and Wyre Forest 14 and Saturday's winners will bag three points.
