Lee Wyatt of Stourport Jobcentre and Clare Dunn of Kidderminster Jobcentre at the jobs fair.
Shuttle/Times and News advertising manager Stuart Allen hailed the inaugural fair, sponsored by Kidderminster College, as a great success.
He said: "We were very pleased with this, our first, free event. You never know what to expect. It was not necessarily the numbers of people who attended, although this was very high, around a hundred an hour over six hours, but the quality of those attending.
"Visitors were genuinely interested in looking for career opportunities and covered a wide range of ages, from school leavers to adults of pensionable age."
He added standholders who had taken part were very enthusiastic about the success of the event, praising the organisation of the fair and the central location.
He said: "We're looking for even more local companies to get involved in the next jobs fair in 2002."
