REGARDING the story headlined "Jail me, says dad" (Evening News, October 8) I was very disturbed to read that this parent is still refusing to send his son to school because he can't get him into Nunnery Wood.
I also applied for my daughter to attend this school and was refused a place. She is now in year 10 at Elgar and is making brilliant progress.
All schools have their problems, but I am a firm believer that if a child wants to learn, he or she will succeed. This is as much to do with the parents' attitude as the child's.
This parent is doing the child no favours whatsoever. Thumbs-up to Dr Watts and his staff.
