KIDDERMINSTER Choral Society has appointed a new secretary following the retirement of the previous incumbent after 11 years' service.
Pauline Powell, who is stepping down, helped forge links with the Theodor Storms Chor from Husum, Kidderminster's twin town, in 1990 - and arranged a series of joint concerts during her time in the post.
The mantle of honorary secretary has been passed on to Judy Pearce, a long-standing soprano and committee member.
Other highlights of her tenure as secretary have included the 1999 centenary celebrations and the setting-up of the society youth choir, which last year made its first visit to Husum.
The society's next concert will be on November 24 at Kidderminster Town Hall.
