VALE chef, Sue Ellis, proved she had the right ingredients for success to carry off a national title.
The 22-year-old, junior sous chef at Wood Norton Hall, has been named Nestle Young Chef of the Year. It meant she had gone one better than the year before, when she was runner-up in the competition.
The judging panel included television chef, Brian Turner, and contestants had to prepare and cook a three-course meal in just two hours at the Birmingham College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies.
Her prizes include a week's placement in Lyon, France, in a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Sue, of Orchard Road, Pershore, has worked at Wood Norton Hall for four years, was overjoyed at her win, saying: "I felt ecstatic. It was bizarre. It was a good feeling."
