BEFORE setting off or a trip through the Forest of Dean, members of Staunton & District Over-60s club had coffee and sandwiches in the lounge of Johnstone Close, later visiting Taurus Crafts, near Lydney, where a cream tea was enjoyed.

Every year the club holds their own harvest festival Service and this year was no exception. Canon John Evans conducted the service and 35 children from Staunton & Corse CE School together with their headteacher, Mrs Rosie Miller, attended with Mrs Esme Jones accompanying the singing. Afterwards 50 club members had a harvest lunch. There was a sale of vegetables and the club donated £20 to Newent Disabled Club and £10 to the children's Christmas party.

The last outing this year will be to the Kingfisher Arcade at Redditch. The club were to have entertained visitors from Little Dewchurch Club in Herefordshire but unfortunately they have had to cancel their visit.
