UPTON Youth Band hit the right notes at a competition in Birmingham's National Indoor Arena.
It scooped the award for Most Improved Band and finished fifth out of 14 in the novice section of the annual British Youth Bands Association (BYBA) competition.
Led by Sharon Coxhead, the band wowed judges last Sunday (October 14) with its trademark medley of Disney hits.
"It was an absolutely spectacular day," said Nicki Taha, spokesman for the band.
"Everything went really well. We had only expected to finish seventh, which is our current BYBA league standing.
"We want to say a big thank-you to everyone involved."
The 23-strong band, which consists of brass and percussion instruments, will be playing in public again on Remembrance Sunday (November 11), when it will lead the procession from Upton Parish Church to the war memorial.
