Papa Joe's All Stars will be appearing at Upton's Memorial Hall on Friday, October 26. The outfit is one of the longest-running traditional jazz bands on the UK scene. Its line-up includes Ken Sims, who played in the Acker Bilk band of the 1950s, and Charlie Connor, who started his career in 1948 with John Haim's Jelly Roll Kings. Tickets are £8 (£6 members), available on the door or from Pepperpot Print, 23 High Street, on 01684 593794. Doors open at 7pm for an 8pm start. The concert is scheduled to finish at 11.15pm.
