TICKETS are now on sale for a charity gala event aimed at raising money for the Acorn Children's Hospice.

The gala is being held on Saturday, November 10, at the Abbey Hotel in Malvern.

The event includes an auction and among the lots is the chance of a weekend's possession of a Malvern-built Morgan sports car.

All proceeds will go towards a new hospice in Worcester, which is due to open in 2004.

The event is being organised by Barclays Bank in association with the hospice.

"It's a really worthwhile cause and we are looking to raise a substantial sum on the night," said Darren Morris, Barclays' business manager for Malvern.

Among the other auction lots are a flight over the Malverns in a light aircraft, paintings by local artists and meals out in local restaurants.

Entertainment will be provided by The Beatless, the highly-regarded Beatles tribute band.

Tickets are being sold at £30 each in tables of ten.
