WHAT does it mean to be in 'good health'?
There is general agreement that it means more than merely the 'absence of disease'. Healthy living has a spiritual as well as a physical and a mental dimension.
'Wholeness' is the in-word, and it describes one of humanity's deepest longings.
In the Bible, there is a close connection between 'healing', 'salvation' and 'wholeness'.
When Jesus said to someone, "your faith has made you well" (Mark 5:34), He was speaking of the wholeness of body, mind and spirit that trust in Him can bring.
This Healthcare Sunday (October 21) there is an opportunity to thank God for the work of those involved with medical aspects of good health in our local community.
A special service in 'Celebration of Caring' will be held at Lansdowne Methodist Church, Malvern, at 3pm. All are welcome.
REV DR MARY BARR, Chaplain, Malvern Community Hospital.
