THIS Stourport & District U 16's League fixture saw Malvern playing poorly in the first half and nearly turning things around in the second.
BEWDLEY TOWN 3, MALVERN TOWN 2
Bewdley raced to a three goal half time lead, the first two goals came from poorly defended corners and the third from the penalty spot.
From the restart Malvern were a much improved side and Rob Cullen came close within seconds of the restart. Then Jamie Thomas pulled one back when he ran onto a through ball and rounded the keeper.
Malvern now started to turn up the heat but found Graham Glety in the Bewdley goal in inspired form, saving a penalty and shots from Tom Griffiths and Andy Fletcher.
There was nothing he could do about Thomas's second however when he powered home a well placed cross. Malvern then had many chances to score and can count themselves unlucky not to come away with a share of the points.
Man of the Match: Tom Griffiths.
