HOW sad that our elderly, due to Government failure, are still described and treated as "bed blockers".
These are our parents and grandparents who had survived two world wars and worked all their lives, yet still find themselves the victims of the system.
They are not bed blockers. They are victims of the NHS and Social Services not providing adequate care. Two years ago, letters from care home owners appeared in this paper warning that this situation was happening.
Care is available, of course, when your house is forcibly sold and your savings taken to pay care fees of up to £385 and more per week.
So please they are not "bed blockers" - they are victims of this Government which, while allowing a growing flow of illegal immigrants into this country, are failing to care and provide for our own elderly.

Worcester.
