RADAR'S inconsistency this season continued last Sunday against hard-working Colwall.

After last week's good all round performance at Kays, this was a disappointing display from Radar.

COLWALL ST JAMES 2, MALVERN RADAR 0

Play in the opening exchanges was rather scrappy with defenders Phil Birch and Clive Churchill for Radar, and Darren Loader and Paul Fleck for Colwall all in control breaking down most of the attacks.

The closest either team came to scoring was Birch's powerful header which was superbly tipped over the bar by the acrobatic Richard Birchley in the Colwall goal.

The home side opened the scoring on the half hour when Guy Locke's free kick appeared to be going through to the keeper only for Stuart Hayes to stretch out a boot and nudge the ball wide of Radar keeper Chris Ball.

There was little of note in the second half until the final few minutes when it was Trevor Lesterman who secured the points for Colwall with a goal he deserved for his all round effort, he latched onto a long clearance with Radar pushing forward and promptly cracked in a tremendous shot from the edge of the box .

Radar's performance was summed up in injury time with both Gary Head and Nial Henderson both shooting tamely at Birchley from good positions.

This Sunday Radar are away to All Blacks in the Bernard Finnegan Trophy, meet RSRE Club 9.30am.
