Boss Jan Molby was hoping to put an end to the Carlisle United jinx of last season.

Harriers lost to the Cumbrian's three times and could only muster a victory in the LDV Vans Trophy.

Bottom of the table Carlisle had captain Stuart Whitehead, a former Bromsgrove Rovers player, back from an ankle injury.
