JON Burgess is unable to provide evidence of his claim that 97 per cent of farmers support hunting (You Say, October 1).
But he does admit that the figure he gave was calculated by the Labour Leave Country Sports Alone group.
This group of pro-hunting Labour supporters is chaired by Baroness Ann Mallalieu who also just happens to be Chairwoman of the Countryside Alliance (formerly the British Field Sports Society).
Forgive me for being cynical, but this connection may cast some doubt on any claim that this research is genuine and unbiased.
Jon Burgess also repeats the claim that arrangements were being made for us to video hunt
The impression given on the day by the hunt-master present was that they would not allow a camera anywhere near a dig-out.
The reality remains that cameras are not welcome in the killing fields they just can't afford the truth to be shown.
