5/7/01 NEIL MacKenzie has spoken further over his shock departure to Blackpool yesterday.
The 25-year-old signed for the Second Division club, promoted via the play-offs last season, on a two-year deal.
But Harriers chiefs are bound to feel bitter after the out-of-contract midfielder left despite the club reviving his career last season.
MacKenzie, who was sacked by Cambridge United due to concerns over his off-field behaviour, had reportedly agreed to sign a new one-year deal at Aggborough.
However, he stated: "Coming to Blackpool offered me the opportunity to play at a higher level.
"Without being in any way disrespectful to Kidderminster, Blackpool are a bigger club and a more traditional club.
"I obviously played against them last season and I know how good a team they are.
"Their performance at Aggborough in particular was superb."
