FOUR Worcester Rugby Club stars have been plunged into a selection farce after being called up to an English National Divisions squad.
Ben Hinshelwood, Ben Clarke, Dave Sims and Duncan Roke are all included in the squad, containing players from the National League, to face Australia 'A' on Sunday at Leicester.
However, the quartets involvement in the match would mean the players missing Worcester's vital National One clash at Otley on Saturday.
The selection has come under fire from Sixways chief executive Geoff Cooke.
He believes Hinshelwood is ineligible because he is Australian, while he insists Clarke has retired from representative rugby.
Roke, meanwhile, has only recently broken into the Worcester first team and will be anxious to keep his place. Sims could be the only Worcester man to play, simply for the chance of a match after warming the bench for most of the season so far.
Meanwhile, Worcester have confirmed the signing of fly-half Steven Vile subject to him passing a medical at Sixways today.
