PLANS to extend a hotel near Droitwich Spa have been prompted by its popularity with travellers.
The Travelodge, at Rashwood, is seeking permission to build a further 28 bedrooms at its site off the A38.
Bosses want to build the extension on the car parking area. They also plan to create a new road access and an extra 31 parking spaces.
The site also boasts a Little Chef restaurant.
A Travelodge spokesman said: "Being so close to the M5, our services are in great demand and we believe the extra rooms would easily be filled.
"We have also decided to re-site our access road for safety reasons."
He added that if the development is approved it could create new jobs.
Blueprints have been submitted to Wychavon District Council for consideration.
A hotel and McDonald's restaurant are expected to be opened in nearby Wychbold next year.
