IT was the last meeting of the temporary governing body of Ipsley Middle School on October 16.
Councillor Betty Passingham came to address the temporary governing body to explain her choice of nominations for LEA governorships to the new school.
I can only say she acted in a manner which one regrets in someone holding public office.
She stated we had no idea of the pain the Redditch Review had caused her.
I took great exception to that remark as two out of my three children have been affected by the review and have been subjected to school closures.
I fought alongside other parents to stop the closure of our schools.
However once the decisions had been made, it has been an honour and privillege to work with the temporary governing body and the headteacher, Mr Mitchell, to help build a new school.
I have been on the front line for complaints from parents when things have not gone to plan.
My name, along with three other serving members of the temporary governing body, had been put forward for nomination by Mrs Passingham.
It is with extreme disapointment that all my years of serving as a LEA governor, at Moatfield Middle School, are being dismissed.
It is a known fact that Worcestershire has a problem recruiting LEA governors. I find it surprising, therefore, that of the four nominees put forward, who have over fifty years' experience between them, only two are being nominated by Mrs Passingham.
I have served on all but two of the appointment of staff panels and have attended every meeting.
As the Parent Governor Representitive for Worcestershire, I sit on the Education and Lifelong Learning panel and the Children and Young People panel, where I enjoy the respect of my county councillor colleagues.
I would like to thank Councillors Tom Wareing, Dianne Thomas and Phillip Gretton for kindly nominating me for the LEA governorship of Ipsley Middle School and for their acknowledgement of the time and commitment I have put into my role as a long serving LEA governor.
I would find it a privillege to continue to serve on the permanent governing body in any position.
Mrs Juliet Lote
Parent Governor Representative for Worcestershire,
Member of the Temporary Governing Gody of Ipsley Middle school
