VISITORS to the town centre are going to see the light with a number of initiatives aimed at brightening up the place.
The news comes after Redditch Council revealed it had allocated £60,000 towards Christmas lights in the town centre next year.
But during a town centre partnership meeting last week, it was announced a number of decorative motifs for the lampposts would be put up this year.
The Christmas lights will be operating from Sunday, November 18.
Negotiations are also taking place with British Gas to get St Stephen's Church spire floodlit.
Lighting in the subway at the back of Allders in the Kingfisher Centre has been improved following a number of complaints.
And a commemorative French street lamp, donated by friendship town Gruchet-Le-Valasse, has now been switched on outside the town hall.
