TOWNSPEOPLE can rent an allotment free of charge for one year.
Plots usually cost between £5 and £30 a year but Redditch Council is offering free rent to encourage people to sign up.
There are sites in the town centre, Winyates, Lakeside, Batchley, Matchborough, Church Hill and Feckenham, as well as other areas.
A new newsletter for allotment tenants is also planned.
