TALENTED young tennis players from the Alcester area are receiving advanced tennis coaching as part of the national lottery funded Active Sports initiative.
Receiving 20 weeks of coaching by qualified LTA coaches, the youngsters have been selected from local clubs and summer tennis schemes to further their tennis potential. Coaching is taking place at Alcester Tennis Club on Thursday evenings for squads of U9 and U13 children between 5.30-7pm.
Sessions continue to Thursday November 15 and re-commence in the New Year.
Organised by the Greater Warwickshire Sport Partnership in association with Stratford-on-Avon District Council, the Partnership has accessed over £116,000 to develop sport in the first year of a seven-year programme across the area.
Active Sports aims to encourage more young people into playing sport and provides advanced coaching.
