A FIRST half goal by Philip Preedy enabled Evesham United to beat Racing Club Warwick 1-0 at Common Road in the Dr Martens League Western Division last night.
After 34 minutes Mark Wolsey was fouled on the edge on the visitors box. Steve McCartan played a short free kick to Preedy who drilled home a powerful low drive past Warwick keeper Craig Dutton.
United's cause was made easier 10 minutes into the second half when Warwick striker Lee Hughes was sent off after receiving his second booking.
United enjoyed the best spell of the game after this.
The dangerous Preedy was denied by Dutton after a brilliant run that saw beat 4 Warwick defenders and then Dean Roberts just failed to get a touch to Preedy's cross with the goal gaping.
